R&D platforms, and research services. We consider opportunities in other fields when we have special knowledge to apply. Geographically, we like California and Israel.
In addition to creating and running new life-science companies and providing
seed funding on a very selective basis,
we also provide high-level strategic and management consulting services to life-science start-up companies and larger, more established organizations.

- Convergent Management, Inc., a consulting firm focused on management, strategy, corporate development, and business development
- Convergent Cycling, a market development company born of a passion for biotech and bicycles (see Cycling)
Convergent Ventures, LLC was also a founding managing member of Convergent Investors, LLC, a seed-stage life-science fund that started new companies from the California Institute of Technology and UCLA.
Convergent Ventures is led by Bill Robbins, a serial entrepreneur, start-up executive, private investor and non-profit leader who began his career
in the pharmaceutical industry, migrated to biotech, segued into medical technology, and amassed a wealth of industry experience, scientific & technical
knowledge, management insights and business contacts along the way. To share his knowledge with scientist-entrepreneurs, business founders, and seed
investors, Bill authored Seed-Stage Venture Investing: The Ins and Outs for Entrepreneurs, Start-ups, and Investors on Successfully Starting a New Business (Thomson Reuters, 2006).
